The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) is an international non-profit organisation working to end overfishing and protect ocean ecosystems. Its blue eco label shows that a product has been caught by a certified sustainable fishery. This assurance is provided through independent assessment of fisheries to the MSC Fisheries Standard. In the 2023/2024 financial year, Iceland expanded its MSC certified range from 30 to 46 products. This now covers 73% of our seafood range, making us the UK’s second-highest supermarket for MSC coverage.
This range includes a wide variety of products such as wild pink salmon fillets, large North Atlantic prawns, breaded fish fingers, battered haddock fillets and fish pie.
We’re committed to growing this range even further, to help protect life both above and below the waterline.
Look for the MSC label when shopping for fish and seafood at Iceland.
