Iceland Foods has expanded its selection of Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) labelled seafood in time for Christmas, launching eight new certified products and offering customers an even wider choice of responsibly farmed options this festive season.
Earlier this year, the retailer announced that it had grown its own-label range of ASC-certified farmed seafood to eight products, with a commitment to increase this to more than 25 by the end of 2026. As part of this pledge, all own-label whole prawn products will be ASC-certified and clearly display the ASC logo.
This Christmas, Iceland has introduced eight new ASC-certified prawn products meaning shoppers can enjoy great-quality seafood while choosing a more sustainable option.
The following ASC-certified Christmas products will be available in store and online:
- Iceland Luxury 2 Pack Prawn Cocktails – 200g, £5.00
- Iceland Luxury 6 XL Battered Tempura King Prawns – 390g, £10.00
- Iceland King Prawn Cocktail Ring With Marie Rose Dip – 140g, £2.50
- Iceland Luxury 6 King Prawn Samosas With Mango Chutney & Chilli Dip – 220g, £5.00

- Iceland Luxury 8 Pack Prawn Cracker Coated Prawns with Sweet Chilli – 270g, £5.00

The ASC sets rigorous standards for responsible aquaculture, encouraging environmentally and socially responsible farming practices while ensuring full traceability and transparency throughout the supply chain.
Richard Walker, Executive Chairman at Iceland Foods said: “Iceland has always been the home of the iconic prawn ring, and now we’re proud to make it sustainable. Expanding our range of ASC-certified products once again is an important step, especially at a time of year when seafood plays such an important role in celebrations.
“Our customers shouldn’t have to choose between quality, value and doing the right thing, and this range delivers all three. We remain committed to raising the bar on responsible sourcing and animal welfare across our seafood offering.”
Chris Ninnes, CEO of ASC said: “Iceland’s continued commitment to ASC-certified seafood shows how responsible aquaculture can become the norm for everyday shoppers. Their Christmas range proves that better-farmed seafood can be high quality, affordable and accessible to everyone.
“It’s encouraging to see a retailer raising the bar at a national scale and this is exactly the kind of leadership that drives real change in our industry.”
